New Delhi [India], May 18 (ANI): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra on Sunday expressed pride in being part of an all-party delegation that will represent India's message of zero tolerance against terrorism on the global stage.
Speaking with ANI, Sasmit Patra called the Central Government's decision to send delegations across the world an 'incredibly powerful movement'
'It is an incredibly powerful movement in the soft power of diplomacy by India, where the voice of India as a unified India, despite our political differences, are going to come together as one.'
'We are one as a political entity and a democracy. It is always India first. It is a matter of pride for me that I got this opportunity,' he added.
Sasmit Patra seemed determined to expose Pakistan's sponsored terrorism across the world as he stressed that the delegations message is clear that terrorism will not be tolerated.
'Our message that terrorism will not be tolerated, exposing Pakistan's sponsored terrorism, Pakistan's active involvement in terrorism and the need and contextualization of #OperationSindoor. These are areas which are going to be taken up strongly,'
Sasmit Patra is part of Shrikant Ekanth Shinde led delegations that will visit UAE, Liberia, Congo and Sierre Leone.
Patra also stressed that this is the best opportunity to send a message across the world that all parties stand together when it comes to the nation.
'This is the best opportunity to tell the world that though we are from different parties and have different ideologies, when it comes to our nation, we are one and we are moving forward with one ideology,' he said.
Along with Patra, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, IUML MP Mohammed Basheer, BJP MP Atul Garg, BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra, SS Ahluwalia, and Sujan Chinoy are also part of this Shrikant Eknath Shinde-led delegation.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, JDU leader Sanjay Kumar Jha, BJP leader Baijayant Panda, DMK leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule, are the other leaders who will lead the other six delegations on the global stage.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, who shared the list on Saturday, also highlighted how the Members of Parliament have shown a united stance of 'One mission. One message. One Bharat.' (ANI)
